Lighting Control
Modern luxury homes will usually have upward of a hundred lighting loads. Controlling such a quantity of lighting loads conveniently requires the inclusion of a lighting control system where the lighting loads can be clustered together in a room to create a lighting scene. Rather than a single lighting load being the dominant illumination in a room, multiple lighting loads combined can create a different ambience which compliments the room's interior design.
We are expert installers of lighting control systems, from system design to final commissioning of lighting scenes in each room and collectively in larger areas. The lighting control equipment will usually be located in a hub enclosure on each floor, where the dimming and switching modules are housed.
In the last ten years, LED tape has become increasingly popular. It is now frequently integrated into bespoke joinery or furniture pieces and architecturally into coffered ceilings, walls and even into the ground in garden landscaping. These lighting loads can quickly push the total amount in a property to closer to one hundred and fifty loads.
Lutron Keypads
We offer a wide range of lighting keypads in various styles and finishes. The lighting keypads will be located in each room and will compliment the room's interior design or the entire project scheme.
The most straightforward programming we recommend for a lighting keypad can be to trigger a 'bright' or 'soft' setting and a 'room off' button. We can program more scenes by adding further buttons or program the buttons to trigger different lighting scenes at different times of the day.
Every lighting load is connected to the centralised lighting control system, allowing us to automate many lighting loads to activate with a single button press. For example, a button that switches every light off downstairs as the homeowner retires to the sleeping quarters in the evening.
Automated Blinds
Alongside controlling the lighting inside a modern luxury home, we also have experienced expertise in installing automated blinds to control the light coming into the property from outside. Integrated directly into the centralised lighting system, automated shading allows the homeowner never to have to manually operate a blind again whilst also coordinating multiple blinds to raise and lower in perfect alignment.
Our preferred automated blinds are also very quiet, so they can't be heard when they are in operation. On a new build project, we would look to hardwire each blind. However, automated blinds can also be powered by multiple D-cell batteries, with three to five years of battery life before the batteries need replacing. This solution is perfect for a retrofit solution where only one or two rooms require automated shades.
